About the event
This illustration work, produced by Level two students on the BA (Hons) Illustration degree programme, represents their responses to a project brief, hosted by Southside, a Music and Events Venue in Lincoln, which required that each student to produce two street posters aimed at celebrating the lives and contributions made by immigrants, working or living on the southern side of Lincoln’s high street.
The exhibition consists of a broad range of work reflecting the differing levels of experience and ability among the students, frequently challenging but always an individual perception of the space where other cultures cross boundaries with Lincoln.
Lincoln is becoming a much more multicultural city and this project was constructed to reflect that and the issues that arise within it. People come for many reasons: to study, to work, to stay a while, to stay forever. The broader “The Ties That Bind Us” project, conceived and run…
